Hey,

I have two squier strats... I have a weird feeling that one of them has a different body. The one im concerned about has this serial number:

E914687 and says made in korea. I think the neck is from a squier strat and the body is from a squier II strat or something... The body was spray painted from a previous owner (and i plan on restoring the original colour)

The 2nd one is made in indonesia and the SN is ICS15110856. I got this in a rush one day and didnt ask any questions.

Could someone help me get any info on these please?

Michael,

The first guitar, or some portion of it anyway, was made in Korea at the Young Chang factory there, in 1989.

Why do you believe the body is cobbled on from another guitar? I really can't tell from the photo, but that is admittedly one horrendous paint job.

The bottom one is a newer Squier, made at Cort's Indonesian factory in 2015.

Both have maple necks, rosewood fingerboards, and very average pickups and hardware. The bodies may be either alder, and they may be some other lesser hardwood.

I hope this helps!

The knobs and switch on the first one are all wrong. Some guitar with a Fender neck screwed on to it.

I agree that the white and black monstrosity isn't a standard configuration Strat, but there's a chance that it is the original configuration 1989 Squier II Stratocaster HSS body. (This photo is blurry, but it definitely says Squier on the headstock, though I can't make out whether it says Squier II)

In addition to the horrible paint job, (as best I can tell from the photo) the master volume knob is missing.

Here's what the guitar might've looked like brand new:

Damian,

Your Squier Affinity Strat was made in Indonesia in 2000, at the Cort factory there.

It's in very nice condition, and worth at least $130 USD.
That's 1,325 Bolivares.

I hope this helps!
