New member alert....
Even I had never heard of Yakima guitars before. But I had virtually stumbled upon, and bought a Yakima Randy Rhoads Vee copy (circa mid-80s) recently.
It's seemingly all original, with a set-neck, kahler trem, odd h/s/s p'up configuration, grover tuners, etc.....
Has anyone out there any knowledge or information about this brand-name/model?

Welcome to the forum 80saxejunkie, I am happy you joined us

There isn't all that much known about these guitars (foremost I cannot find their manufacturer's website even ) - so it's rather hard to get any reliable information about it.

Thank You. I'm happy that you're happy.
I do agree that there is little or no info on a lot of these old guitars that appeared on the market (for a minute) in the '80's. It was a time when korea and japan were cranking-out gobs of very good quality guitars, under gobs of brand names.

I did find out a few other details about this guitar. The model designation is H771KT/CAR. The "CAR" is for candy apple red finish (the photo's don't do it justice at all...much better up close).
The trem is a usa-made Kahler Flyer.
Hardshell case model # is HC1177.
I still do not know if it's japanese or korean made (not that it matters), the sticker on the back of the body tells the model number. And I still don't know if it's a neck-thru-body, or set-neck (glued in neck). The thickness of the cool finish doesn't show a joint one may see on set-neck guitars. It's streamlined in that area to make it look seamless. And I still don't know what the body/neck woods are. Neck is likely to be maple. Body is likely to be alder, or mahogany.
The only review I found for a Yakima RR Vee copy is on Harmony Central. Only one, and it's quite vague, since the writer has the same information I do=ZIP/0.
Don't you just love a good mystery?
