That depends on which "Division" you are dealing with. Fender is broken up into many subdivisions and the SWR side of things have Brian Belller handling the PR end of things.

Sorry, but I think I will decline to play on a way-too expensive clone of an instrument that is already very ugly to start with.
Give me a Bossa anyday ...

Wow. Different strokes for different strokes.

I personally think the eloquent look of a Jazz Bass is unparalleled. With an appropriately chosen pickguard, a solid color on an unfigured piece of
Alder can be down right stunning (my sea foam green with tortoise pickguard is a looker, 9 out of 10 chics can't be wrong). Leo took what would have been a very plain looking instrument (Telecaster, Stat, J Bass, P Bass, etc)
and applied a cheap and practical feature (pickguard) that sets the standard in my book.

And why spend all the time and money gluing on a piece of figured wood that may only detract from the sound. A Tobias interview I read discussed the non musical characteristics of glue joints. Hell two years of monthly string changes can be tied up in a figured top. If money is no object, what the hell, but for the rest of us...

Hmm.. actually looks like one of those cheap Jazz Bass rip-offs that are for sale in about every music store...

Also beautiful bass. I love the look of sunburst with a pickguard.

You put together almost exactly the bass I dreamed about a few weeks ago.
The only difference I was leaning toward a tortoise pickguard on a 59 burst ash body, maple board.

Did you get the hum cancelling dual coil pups?

Aguilar? No kidding. I've been wanting to check out those GS112s for a long time. I may have to take the drive someday!

Yeah, that EBS stuff is getting attention from some big names. Marcus Miller is a recent endorser. You like it?

Yeah, GC is kind of lame in the selection department. Especially the one on
Colorado Blvd. It's all MIM Fenders and Warwicks.

No, but Rockley music (on Colfax) is a Zon Dealer. I've seen a couple in there. A used legacy 6, a basic blue trans over ash Sonus 4 fretless, and a gold studio 5. Last time I was in they also had a couple of nice Ken Smiths and a Warwick Infinity (which was a very nice bass, and I typically don't like Warwicks at all).

I've bought 4 Zons over the years -- 2 special orders, 1 new from Bass
Northwest and 1 used from AGB's own Rob Kloka -- all sight unseen, and I've never been disappointed. One caveat: the Zons I have found in stores never seem up to snuff. Most of them were used and poorly set-up. And I can only guess the new ones I've come across were tinkered with by store staff, as they played like hell. The two I got direct from Zon, or reputable dealers or sellers have all played like butter right out of the gig bag.

If your looking at Modulus, do yourself a favor and see if you can try a
Zon. It's all preference of course, but I've always found Moduli sound a bit thin. That, and I don't much care for 35" scale. If it's Modulus you're after, I would recommend contacting Drum City Guitar Land. He's always got some nice ones in stock, and his prices are very competitive.

My dream bass would be a 34" scale, 5 string, narrow spacing that could produce a modern tone with a focused low end and have the ability to go to a tamed down passive like sound without heading to the amp tone controls.
Like everyone else I would like a B string that doen't sound like a fart.

Thanks for the head up. I will have to keep an eye out for the Metros. Any idea on the price of the Metros equipped like the one you just purchases?
