REO Speedwagon, what was the name of that bar? Was it the Red Lion? I remember that the highest peak in the area was the railroad track hump.

PS I went to tech school in Rantoul.

OK since we are bragging.......... Have you ever heard of Canterbury, up there in New Brunswick Cathy? I am related on my Father's side of the family to about 90 of the 120 or so residents (census in the 70's). One of my fond childhood memories is my father and I traveling up there. They still had a local operator and the old old old no dial phone that you picked up and clicked the lever to connect to the operator. My nearest relatives there are 2nd cousins, but I guess I must be 1/4 Canadian myself. I am proud to announce it is not the French Canadians though. Sorry, but they are the main brunt of Southern Maine prejudice. They come down in their

Judging by the responses here it would seem to me that Great Britain has more guitarists per capita than the USA. We do seem to have one hell of an international mix here, guess we all speak the language of music.

You were pretending to be a young man?
Did you get away with it?
But so long as there are men older than you, you still are a young man.

Speaking of names.
Mine is really weird.
Tucker.
But it was spelled differently when my Grandfather came from Ireland.
It was in Gallic.
Touchere.

Sure, I've been down there a few times. I live on the east side by the lake. Darn cold in the Winter but very nice in the summer.

Angelone's pizza, now that truly brings me back. Used to eat one everyday back in 1973 and 1974 for lunch, pepperoni with extra cheese. Used to be an
Angelone's Pizza Restaurant across from Westbrook Jr. High School (used to be the High School at one time when my mother attended).

I could really go for some Old Orchard Beach Pier Fries and a slice of
Lisa's pizza ... then a nice long walk on the beach to Pine Point for some clamcakes at Bayleys. In Rhode Island what they call clamcakes are really fritters with the rare chopped piece of clam in the dough.

I remember during the summer of 1979 a young guy around 19-21 yrs. old playing his guitar for food and drink on the beach. He really was more interested in the drink! He played lefty and could sing and play for hours.
What a great day that was ... he had so much talent, I wonder whatever became of him, good things I hope.

When business travel brings me to Quebec, I make it a point to order a poutine. You should see the look on people's faces when I ask the local RI restaurants to put gravy on my fries! Summer is on it's way, so I'll have to cut out the fries and gravy in order to fit into my Old Orchard Beach speedo, eh!

One more thought and memory ...
Rhubarb or blueberry pie anyone? Cathy, I know you have those in the North country. I can get blueberry pie anytime, but rhubarb pie or even strawberry rhubarb pie can't be found.

The stroll down memory lane is fun, but this thread is going to result in an extra 15 lbs.

Having grown up in Chicago I love Italian Beef Sandwiches.
But they are not available in many other places.
They have things they call Italian Beef but they are far from the real thing.
I love them sloppy with hot and sweet peppers...Yum!!

You guys don't know what you are missing!!
