I'm looking for a good reverb pedal.
The only two I'm seeing is the ElectroHarmonix "Holy Grail" and the Boss RV5.

I know that the Boss is more expensive but EH is a good brand too.
Anyone have experience with these?

I use an EH Holy Grail in the FX loop on a Triple Rec and it works just fine. effectsforless.com will sell you one, shipped, for about 89.00

i had an EH holy grail for a bit and it was fine. seemed like a well build sturdy pedal that sounded like reverb should sound. i've also used a borrowed boss rv-3 which was fine as well. but in both cases i used them on fairly low settings.

but when i compared them with the verb in the ampeg reverberocket i'm using at the moment, i thought the pedals sounded duller, less bright than the reverb in the ampeg. seemed like there was less life in the sound. i suppose that's to be expected with these pedals but all the same, i sold the
EH and will do my best to use seek out amps with a decent set of springs when reverb is needed.

I like the Holy Grail better - to my ear it sounds more natural. But your mile may vary.

Lord Valve did a review a while back on the Holy Grail. Don't remember exacts but it was very positive. I think it was the roiginal one and they've come out with another version.
