What is the difference in Build Quality , Price and Player feel of Fender made in the USA, Mexico, Japan , China etc.

Obviously an American Strat is the best , but why & in order of preference, what other countries make a good Fender & why did you come to that opinion ???

I can find out if I tried to view so many sites all talking about a single series Guitar,
but there is not a site I can find that has a forum that gives proper qualified results of a particular range EG ( Why they are good , Prices and abilities of the instrument )

Like What is better? a Fender Classic Strat or an Ibanez RG350DX.

This site has good forums & a lot of you guys & gals have some bloody good , helpful points of views & info .
So I ask you clever ones out there , would it be possible to Start a website on the back of this site , covering these points of views, would it be really helpfull or not ????.

Regards Tapman.

To make sure I've got you right - do you mean getting feedback and quality comparison about equipment?

If so, this is a splendid idea
We can set up a special forum section just for that.
How would you call it?

I have a 1997 MIM Strat, a 2008 American Standard Strat, and a 2008 American Standard Telecaster and they all feel the same to me as far as playability goes i.e. neck, fretboard, and fret locations on the neck.

The difference is in the materials and hardware. The American Standard series have much better hardware than the MIM guitars. Other than that they feel the same to me.

A little partial to the MIM Strat as that is the one I learned on, have more hours on and have a better mental connection to....

So, how would you call a special forum section to get equipment feedback?

Hello Admin,

How about to the point , like 'Instrument Comparison Forum'. or along that line .

I am not good one for titles . But set up the site with a view to invite others including instriment manufacturers to add their points of view as well as owner players .
This could be the best site in the world !!!
for this type of forum .

Hope this will help , but your the proffesionals , I am sure you could find a better Title.

How about ' EQUIPMENT WHATS GOOD,WHATS BAD,COMPARE FEEDBACK GUIDE '( a feedback information forum , to find what is the best Equipment for YOU, for Price, Quality,Playability,Strengths& Relability.Info from Manufactures and you out there using it .

The forum would need to be given Headings, so to access ceratin criteria issues , relating to Manufacturer , Equipment , Instrument and maybe a scoring list(A)or(10) being top ratings and the others lower.

The construction of the feedback site could could be a seperate site or Heading with a Link to it , only because the site could be very comprihensive.

Sorry I am going on a bit , well you know what I mean .
Thanks for listening

Hi Tapman,
Great feedback, I think I'll go with your suggestion of making it simple.

BTW, why didn't you login (you've submitted the posts as a guest)? Did you have any problems to login?

It's kind of apples and oranges, but I have always liked the Epiphone strat-body copies.

They are generally Korean-made, and the workmanship and quality are impressive for the price.

I had my old Ephiphone strat copy stolen in a house burglary on Oahu ten years ago, and ended up replacing it with another, newer Epiphone strat copy! (I think it was marketed as the S-300 or some such thing.) It's got single-coil pickups in the middle and neck positions, and a humbucker in the bridge position.

The classis 'Strat' tone at the neck-middle blended switch position is right on, and the thing always stays in tune.

My hat is off to Fender for continuing the tradition started by Leo all those years ago, and I hope to own a real one someday. But until then, I'm plenty happy with my Epiphone copy.

Well Sparky2 ,
I thankyou for your reply. Sorry for my delay in answering you, but alas my poor PC crashed & needed some major help.
Well as you can see I am back , so I would like to say thankyou for your advice on the Ephiphone Strat. Its nice to hear that the other Strat copies are recommended.
I have heard the Variax 600 sounds similar to the Telecaster , gives a good sound & stays in tune. Nice looking also .

Anyway be good be happy
