I need some help picking out a blues amp. I'm looking for something versatile that I can play SRV, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, and Classic rock. I am leaning towards a Fender tube amp but I'm not sure what to get. I plan on playing mostly at home or occasionally with a drummer and bassist. I would like to also use it at small clubs too.

I play a Fender Strat and a Les Paul. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.

I use a Pignose GR60 60 watt all tube amp with 6 tubes in that baby.
3 12ax 7, 2 6l6, and 1 12ax7 for the reverb. Only one channel, but it is powerful and cost around $250 on Ebay. I love mine and wouldn;'t part with it.

Here is my .02

It depends on how much fingers-guitar-amp interaction that you want. Higher wattage amps need to be pushed, volume wise, to give up the goodies, so, you did say small clubs. Here are my candidates;

Fender Super Reverb, late black or early silver face.
or Deluxe Reverb, same era.

If your into tone/interaction, at a more respectable level for home/recording usage, look at the amps that Gary Gerhart provides www.gerhartamps.com . He has a tube Gilmore Amp that is built specifically for this purpose. You can also build his tube Gilmore Kit. I liked my first unit so much, I built a second unit in a 2 x 8" donor CRATE SS combo chassis. Huge tone/interaction, big happy factor.

I have a Fender Princeton 65 Reissued Reverb Amp and this amp can do it. It's only 15 Watts but would be suitable for small clubs, it's loud. It has two instrument inputs and a spot to connect external speakers too. The reverb tank is huge conpaired to other smaller amps. Try one out locally at a music store and see what you think about it.
