I gather it's more expensive to make than a (winging it here) "short tenon neck" and of course sounds better.
The thing we all have to understand to put these last two years in focus, is that liberals in this country care more about whether European leaders like us than they do about whether terrorists are killing us.

You are a walking encyclopedia

Supposedly the Epiphone Elites (or some of them) have long tenons.

The Epiphone Elite site is really short on details.

From reviewers at Harmony-Central I have read various assertions that:

(1) The Epiphone Elite 63 ES-335 has an ABR-1 Bridge and an Aluminum
Stop bar

(2) The SG and the LPs have Long Tenon necks

(3) The LPs have non-weight relieved bodies

(4) ABR Bridges on the LPs or at least less metal than the standard
Tune-o-matics

Obviously, there is a lot of misinformation in those reviews. Gibson hasn't answered any of my questions about the Elites. I guess they are sick of hearing from me.

But Gibson really needs to do a better job of explaining the strong points of the Elites if they expect to sell them.

Not mine...I just got curious as to whether anyone had a pic of a long neck tenon. It's a lot easier than trying to explain one...

Here's a relatively long tenon neck: http://rockandroll.dns2go.com/michael/guitarpix/ tvlp_construction_pics_early_may.htm

The tenon is the "tab" at the neck heel that fits into the mortise, or
"slot" on the body.
