Is it ok for a stat to be wired to just volume pot with out tone control Pots?

I have recently put new pickups on my Les Paul, and now the bridge volume and tone pots seem to be live and ungrounded.
does anyone have a fix for that?

I did the basic Little Gem, and yes, it is loud enough to accompany unmiked vocals. I suspect that the volume is directly related to the speaker and cab though, so your mileage may vary.
There is no comparison. You need to play them for yourself. Try a JMP 2204 Master Volume or an early JCM 800
2204 and all questions will be answered.
