The White Stripes

If you take into account where I am from (musically) and how very very old I am (well not really, only compared to some) it is really no wonder that I think that the White Strips are the Bee’s Knee’s, so to speak.

This might sound like not such a great intro for a band that really needs non - but there you have it. I could listen to them for months, and that is saying a whole lot.

I also like there ambiguity - are they, brother and sister, Husband and wife, ex husband and ex wife - could be any and neither - they are neither confirming or denying - and in all truth, it neither adds or deters to or from their music - it does add some chili to think on when listening to them.

Last week they did an an unusual performance on Conan OBrian, that I found out about via Squeeze My Lemon

In which Meg emerged from behind the drums, to stand next to Jack strumming a guitar. You could see that she wasn’t completely comfortable, but it opened up an interesting direction for them to explore, maybe we will see more of this, but hopefully, a bit more polished.

More along the usual lines

Thanks for the shot out. I like the White Stripes also. It is something about their minimal stripped down sound that I like. Reminds me of the kind of music that the pre-war bluesmen made, just raw and good.

raw is a good description for their music. Sometimes music can do that primal thing to you and grab your gut - I love that in music, and this is what their music does.

Hey just so you know, I put a link to your blog on my link list.

    Thanks so much!
