Are there actually differences in the tone and sustainability in Teles that have string through bodies?

for personal replies, remove PESTSTRIP.
Of all the forms of visible otherworldliness, the Gothic is at once the most logical and the most beautiful. It reaches up magnificently -- and a good half of it is palpably worthless. - Henry Lewis Mencken, 1880 - 1956

Both of my Tele`s are through the body, but my `83 2 Knob Strat is a top loading through the Trem. Everyone that has ever played the Strat wants to buy it. There is no loss of sustain!

See ya,

P.S. Les Pauls aren`t through the body either and they seem to do pretty well! ;0)
The Supreme Court has ruled that they cannot have a nativity scene in Washington, D.C. This wasn't for any religious reasons. They couldn't find three wise men and a virgin.

If there is I can't hear it, I have a few telecasters and I bought a squire japan silver series on ebay not realizing that it was a top loader, had I known it was I wouldn't have bought it at the time, believing that top loading were inferior...

but it's my favorite tele now, I have changed the pick-ups but I always do that, and acoustically it sounds as good as my other telecasters, I think the sound has a lot more to do with the wood used rather than the top loading or though stringing.
There are two kinds of people in this world: Michael Jackson fans and losers.
