I just played an SWR Big Ben single 18" bass cab today and was totally impressed with this cabs frequency response and punch. Does anyone know what speaker is used in this cab, who makes them etc,,,,
I need one that is 4 ohms,, and the literature states they are 8 ohms. I am unfamiliar with this company, would they offer this in another impedance?
I gotta have one of these!

I don`t know about the 18", but my SWR 2 x 12 "Big Foot" uses Bag End drivers.
Men are born with two eyes, but only one tongue, in order that they should see twice as much as they say.

Hartke`s 18" cab is rated at 4-ohms and down to ~30Hz. Might worth a look as well...

FWIW I read in a review somewhere, sometime long ago, that the woofer is made by Bag End.
I got a Big Ben too, and for the same reason... punchy sound, without needing a piezo tweeter.

Just `cause I could , I put 3-18" Carvin bottoms with a 4-10" top. Not for loud but in search of clean and punch. Never got a chance to do it live again. No room for the band<g>
