I don't understand your question. You say you don't understand the 5 digits but you mention 6 digits: S901763 ?

Hi: thank's. Yeah, 6 digits, but S9 meaning the guitar made between 1978 and 1981. And the next 5 digits, I don't know are the meaning.

They have no meaning.. S9 is the only part that means anything (and it supposed to mean "Seventy 9" but was used 79-81)

Damian hi there in Denmark As far as I can see at THIS (please click) Fender official site the E9+5 digits serial number guitars were made in the U.S. in 1999.

I don't think E9 was used by Japan anyway. That number is found on 89(ish) Korean Squiers.

Go to the Fender web-site and e-mail Fender Consumer Relations the serial number. Jeff Krouse will send you the spec sheet on the guitar and the exact date of manufacture if you request it. He has sent me all the info on my 2 strats and my telecaster too.

my MIJ has E5. From what I gather is Fender made strats with "E" in BOTH US and Japan.
Should say on the headstock !!!!!

We can only know when we see one selling one. Until now personally I haven't seen any ads about this model. (the 2008 Mexican made one you are inquiring about).
