I am trying to find out which magazine (name and issue) carried this piece. Any help determining this is appreciated. Once I know the magazine and issue I can start looking around for a used copy or try to get a back issue from the publisher.

Many thanks.

Thanks for your last two postings. I can probably figure out all the blurry stuff on that one site and just knowing it was Guitar World that first published it made a visit to their site most profitable.
There is a treasure trove of stuff that should provide me with lesson material for some time.

Went to Steve Vai's site. There was one message that indicated that they were considering putting it up on his site. There was another message that pointed to this site:
http://guitarstuff4u.netfirms.com/

And the images on that site are pretty clear (kind of hard to determine sharp and natural symbols sometimes, but easy in context of course)
The advice of their elders to young men is very apt to be as unreal as a list of the hundred best books.
