I thought I would share this story with our members as told by Stephane Grapelli (Jazz violinist for Django Reinhardt) My home town is Oxford, U.K. As you will know its a university town..Once a year they have what is known as a "Rag Week" where the students do outrageous things to raise money for worthy charities....Within that week they have a ball and famous bands are employed to perform...Stephane tells of the time that they were offered to play...negotiations went as per normal until a bombshell, the organiser said that due to it being rag week everyone would attend in the nude to draw attention....although uncomfortable with the idea, the prestige and money could not be overlooked...Stephane says the laughs among the band prior to going on stage were unforgetable...They eventually got the call to go on stage by a nude MC,,They all gingerly took their positions and on cue started with "Jealosy" The curtains opened revealing everyone in evening dress Stephane recalls the only one laughing his had off was their double bass player. ha ha.
