My experience with Japanese guitar's has only ever been good. My very first electric guitar back in 1958 was a Japanese Guyatone Hank Marvin of Cliff Richard and the Shadows also played one.

If you look at my photo's the two telecasters dispayed (Black & Red) are both Japanese and in my opinion are as good as those made in the U.S.A.

However, you need to feel comfortable with the guitar yourself.....there are so many mods you can make these days...The best action I ever got on a guitar was the cheapest one I ever had, a "Vantage" I bought it for a nephew who turned his nose up at it, and so I used it as an experimental git.
