hey everyone,

Any ideas on spec lookup for (hopefully) post-CBS Strats?

Stratocaster "Made in Japan" B011196 1985/86
so from what I know it's a borderline CBS production model. Maple C neck, blank neckplate, the bridge pickup is discolored, so most likely not stock(?), all components 100% and quiet - no noise from pickup switch or pots ...

Thanking you in advance,

psyence

psyence, welcome to the forum

I am afraid I don't know what information you are asking for as to me it seems you know it already

Thank you for your response. I am just trying to find out any sort of spec detail - or if there is any way to determine specs on the pickups, bridge, whatever ... or perhaps i do already know all there is to know about it - that's an unusual feeling =)

i was wondering about is the use of this style of locking nut - three allen screws, each raise a *plate* that compresses two strings against the top underside of the assembly. i wonder how prevalent this style is, if it saw multiple issue years.

also, the tremolo bridge is interesting, rolling string guides and such - the b string tuning knob (for use when nut is locked) is partially stripped or otherwise defective, and i might consider replacing it if could find an original of the same kind.

now i'm just rambling ...

No, no, you're not rambling. Indeed very interesting. I've been going over THIS (please click, but know it's a PDF file) document to try to find something that may hold some information on it but I can't find it, perhaps you?
