Hi guys and gals.

You have a nice website and forum here.
Looking forward to participating, hopefully.

Anybody have an advice for keeping time, and improving sense of rhythm?

When I play I feel as though I am keeping good time, but when I play-back my guitar tracks (on my TASCAM) I discover that I am usually terrible off time. (And this is with me playing over a drum track and/or bass track).

Any help or tips will be greatly appreciated!

I'm old school. You can try a metronome instead of the TASCAM for awhile. Less distractions Then go back to the TASCAM after working with the metro & you should see some results. It's gotta come from you & not your sequencer to be right.

Just got back from one of the local music stores.

The wife surprised me, and wanted to buy (in advance of the holidays) my Christmas present.

"You've got electric guitars and basses, and keyboards out the wazzoo, but your acoustic is tattered, torn, and 35 years old. Get you a proper new one!!"

I love this woman.

We brought home the Takamine EG523SC electric acoustic, and I promptly wrapped it up in Christmas paper and stuck it in the guest room closet. On Christmas morning I will break it out and give it a nice breaking-in.

Anybody own similar Takamines?
You happy?
I did my homework and have been eyeing this thing for a long while.
I'm a home studio musician on a fairly reasonable budget. I was impressed with the easy action, the narrow neck, and the workmaship.

I'll take all your input on my choice of acoustic axes.
Thanks!!
