I'm looking to learn a few good acoustic songs. I've been playing for about a year and a half and I can play and love songs like the following:

Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here (I can play both guitar parts)

Guns 'n Roses: Patience (I just play chords for most of it but I have the solo pretty much nailed)

The Black Crows: She Talks to Angels

Angie by the Stones is great but I'm having lots of trouble with this one. I really like songs that have a combination of strumming and some flatpicking or solos. Can you folks suggest a song or two or three? I appreciate you help.

There's some cracking free beginner and intermediate lessons most of them with mp3s at www.guitarnoise.com. Usual disclaimers... site nothing to do with me, etc etc...
What's another word for thesaurus?

Hi Autonomous,

One of the nicecest acoustic songs for me is "Mull Of Kintyre" By Paul McCartney
extremely simple but kind of haunting.

Chord are A D E G
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cUmIRop31Q

Lyrics:
Mull of kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh mull of kintyre
Far have I traveled and much have I seen
Dark distant mountains with valleys of green.
Past painted deserts the sunsets on fire
As he carries me home to the mull of kintyre.

Mull of kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh mull of kintyre

Sweep through the heather like deer in the glen
Carry me back to the days I knew then.
Nights when we sang like a heavenly choir
Of the life and the time of the mull of kintyre.

Mull of kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh mull of kintyre

Smiles in the sunshine
And tears in the rain
Still take me back to where my memories remain
Flickering embers growing higher and higher
As they carry me back to the mull of kintyre

Mull of kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh mull of kintyre

Mull of kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh mull of kintyre

However if you want some more challenging stuff listen to Jerry Reed "Amos Moses"
or another nice one here
