my guitar date

i`ve a japanese fender stratocaster, the body was made in 1989, however my neck has a serial number beginning with F and six numbers. I`ve looked around and to my shock the neck is supposed to a 1986/87. very confusing, no where on the guitar does it say made in japan, etc.

Could anybody please help, thank you.
