I'm in the planning stages of a custom guitar which will have a pair of P-90 pickups. I don't have a lot of experience with P-90's, so I've been trying different guitars at music stores and reading any reviews
I can find.

I have seen Mighty Mite P-90's online for $30 for a pair, new (!).
Recently I put a P-90 in the neck position of my Epiphone LP Junior
Special (a Rio Grande Bluesbar), and I paid a lot more than $15 for it. It sounds great.

Why are the Mighty Mites so cheap? Are they junk? There's only one review at Harmony Central, but it seemed to be pretty favorable.

Are there any guitars that come with them as stock? I have yet to find a guitar with Mighty Mites in it, so I haven't been able to try them.

If you have any experience with these pickups, good or bad, please share. It would be nice to save some $$$ on pickups, but not at the expense of tone.

So, one might expect to find MM's or something like them in, say, an Agile guitar from Rondo music?

I recently purchased the Bass guitar soapbars from MM, and couldn't be happier. I get good upright sounds, P-bass, funky Jazz bass, they are worth the little dinero they cost. I also purchased a Jazz Bass pickup that i installed in a squier P bass, and it was a little quiet so i wired it in series with the p pickup, and it's a rockin little pu. Also i am planning on getting a set of tele pickups. I figure for $30 you really can't go wrong.

Joey6942 welcome to the forum Thank you for that feedback. I also read in many places that for that price they are doing a great job. But, I also read that they cannot be compared to bigger brands like Lollars, Fralins, VV etc.
What say you?

Now, I'm a bass player, so don't hold that against me. But i have used Bartolini's, Seymour Duncan's, and authentic american Fender stuff, and the MM Soapbars hang with all those. The jazz bass pu was a little quiet, but I would say it is better than my Fender '62 reissues, so, I guess the moral of the story is for the price it's pretty good stuff. I also have a MM replacement J-bass neck on my P-bass. Strait, smooth and well crafted. I would buy them in a minute.
