I have an active P Bass and the E string is much louder then the A and the D for some reason. Any suggestions? Its only one year old. I plan on returning it to have some warranty work done on it. Before I do this I want some advise.

Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is the probable reason why so few engage in it.

I guess you're wrong with something : the Marcus Miller Signature is a Jazz
Bass, Not a Precision.
And for your problem, try to see if the pickup's plots are at the same height. You can adjust the PU's height, too.

However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.

Returning it? Isn't there a place where you can get it done near you?
It's a pretty simple fix assuming that your pickups are working right.
You can just adjust the pickup height to where they pick up the strings more evenly. Sounds like the E string is closer to the pickup than the others. Also, if your strings are trashed out, it could cause some problems, but I would look to the height of the pickups first.
