They haven't made them in years...only about 100 or so made in 1984 and
1985. I'll see a couple on ebay each year, but they bring a premium compared to most other pointy Guilds, going from a low of around $800 to well over 1000.

Not many were made in the first place. I played one once - it was very light - lighter than would be expected... It was a solid guitar though (no pun intended).

If I could ever find one for under $1,000,000, I'd get it

I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with the Starr Sp-1
Sepctrum, 2 stage, midrange EQ.
http://www.starrlabs.com/guitar_electronics.html

I am currently modifying my guitar and was planning on installing a Clapton
Boost circuit but will have much difficulty doing so without routing a larger control cavity. The Starr preamp takes up less room and can even plug into my StarrSwitch 4+ without soldering. I love that Clapton/Buddy Guy mid boost sound, and I don't want to sabotage my goal, but the Sp-1 would be an easier install.

Does anyone have experience with this preamp??? Thanks for taking the time.

My friend and I went out and picked up a "matching" pair of SG
Standards today ($900 a pop - yow... but they're sooo nice). They are both considered to have "Heritage Cherry" finishes, but mine is definitely more brown/orange than his. It's not quite as brown as seen on the "natural burst" finish... but in that direction. ALSO - mine is noticeably heavier than his.

Is this probably just normal variation in wood selections and finishes? Or... ??? ???

can you have both types on one guitar? say an emg at the bridge and a p90 at the neck?

just curious. never seen it, so i'm assuming it can't be done.

I'm talking about Whitey Kirst, who singlehandedly brought Iggy up out of the soup he was mired in through the 1980s with an especially killer guitar tone; very much vintage, but unabashedly raw in its delivery and stripped of all pretense. Man, I could write for a guitar magazine with that kind of opening!!

Anyway, I was just looking for specifics. Is it just
Les-Paul-and-a-Marshall, what are the settings, and are there any toys hooked up in between? Thanks.

All I'd have to do is go from the J-station midi out to the midi in on the
M-Audio, then go to the USB port? Also, what type of M-Audio device is it exactly? I was looking at a Phase something(?)
