That is not a Fender serial number as there is no lettered serial number prefix and has to many numbers for the earlier models before Fender started the lettered prefixes. Is that the entire serial number that appears on the headstock or neckplate?

Maya411,

Your Starcaster is not a true Fender, but rather is a Chinese-made or Indonesian-made replica.

The modern Starcaster series of guitars, amps, and drums are merely marketed by Fender, in order to use a successful brand name to help sell that line of cheaply-made, student-level instruments.

Your axe was probably made in the year 2000.
If it has an 'arrowhead' shaped headstock, then it was made in China.
If it has the Stratocaster shaped headstock, then it was made in Indonesia.

Depending up on the condition of your guitar it is worth anywhere from $79 to $110 USD.

Sorry, dude.

Am I looking at the wrong number because my guitar teacher said it is a fender and it has the fender starcaster sticker thing on the guitar.

Maya:
The Starcaster was manufactured in China and the serial number you provided it would indicate it was part of a Starter's Kit and with everything that came with it; 10W amp, strings, picks, strap, tuner, and instructions it is valued at between $50.00 USD in 60% condition to $120.00 USD in 98% condition.
Hope this helps,

Was this a Starcaster Pack that your purchased and came with everything you needed (10W amp, strings, picks, strap, tuner, and an instructional DVD) to start playing?
