Hi
I am getting serious about playing guitar, and want to by myself my own guitar and amp. I was wondering where the quality is more important - in the guitar or in the amp?

In both. When the guitar isn't good quality wise the amp cannot make it sound good without going artificial and the other way around.
On the other hand, sound and taste are closely connected and what one calls 'quality' is necessarily thought of to be quality by the other.
