Hi
I am nearly clueless when it comes to acoustic guitars, and I would like to buy one so that I could travel with my guitar, but without all the lugging involved in electric guitar travel.
My budget is about $250, I don't mind if its second hand, for me the main thing is that it sounds good and can take a certain amount of bashing...
thanks.

Hi Olga, Like you I myself am no authority on Acoustics. Having said that I do think second hand is the way to go as this article points out the advantages of such....

I wish you success in your search, The only acoustic I played recently I was pleasantly surprised at how it was made etc and a very reasonable price,it was a "Cort" guitar.

Olga,

I recently ordered a friend of mine (a retired Vietnam vet) this Washburn D100DL guitar as a gift:
http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Washburn- D100DL-Acoustic-Guitar-with-Gig-Bag?sku=513382

He reports that it is a good looking and rugged acoustic guitar, and that it should travel well with the gig bag that they ship with it.

The price is right, and shipping is free.

Good luck!
