Hello Guest, The pole positions these days on Bridge pick ups are traditionally level no raising, however, poles can be moved where you like, years ago the "B" string was always weak and the pole under that string was always raised, there is no reason whatever that you can't experiment with pole positions you may well come up with a sound that you really like...dont forget to try all other switch position that the bridge pup is involved, as you may like one position but hate 3 more it develops. Another tip before moving poles mark where they are at present with whiteout or the like,as you may want to return to the original set up.

Thanks Phil for the reply and I totaly agree,my beloved strat is an old gold on gold from the early 80ies at Fullerton its a bit heavy and the playabillety and sound is fantastic. I was just thinking of the rarity of the pickup because al the poles are raised at the same level about 3 mm from the plastic cover they are stil in the bobine and the pickup is not loose! Might be a proto?
The only thing I have changed is the wire from the lower tone pot to the bridge pu and the sound with a little treble cut is just awesome for SURF!!

HI AB, That's great when you get success like that, if you don't try anything you will never, ever, know. My Dad used to say always listen to others because when you are talking you are listening to something you already know but when listening you may learn something new..!!

Take care of yourself and that great ax as well.
