Found this Global in a pawn shop. Can't believe it still plays well after all these years. I remember when Sears and Montgomery Ward sold these guitars back in the 50's. I've actually used this guitar in my recordings.

Yeah, it's like Van Gogh's His paintings weren't worth a dime in his life time but afterwards.... (perhaps this will happen with those guitars as well )

Hey! Thanks for the comments! Nope...don't have a clue how much this beauty would be worth...maybe not much, but it's worth a lot to me just to have found it. Reminds me of my childhood days. For this guitar to have survived is a miracle...the back of the neck must have been in a major accident (or someone smashed it on stage) ...looks like somebody glued it back together and it still plays just fine. Has some string slippage at times, but then so do I at 50 something years old! I did some home recording last night with this baby and did a version of "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash. Gave it some Pat McDonald influence and a little of my own style pretending I was Chris Isaak. The result was a very intriguing almost daunting sound. Interesting, huh?

Peace,
Renee

Hey Sudsdude! Well, the way I can tell the age on this old Global is because I remember them from the 50's and 60's.....also..I found a couple of websites that had the Sears and Montgomery Ward catalogs from that time period and my Global seemed to match up. Sorry, I don't have those websites handy, but look on the net for old catalog prices...

Peace,
Renee
