Well the honeymoon is over for my new Gibson SG.

I really liked the Duncan 59 in my Epiphone SG.

I read somewhere about the Gibson 490 pickups getting "mushy" when distorted. I think this describes some of what I'm experiencing.

I'm kinda squeemish about modifying my real Gibson. Anyone here think this switch is worth it?

Does the Pearly Gates feed back? I've been enjoying feedback.

Go for it, especially something like a pickup swap. You can always swap the original back in.

Don't get me wrong. I really like the Gibson, but I also liked the SD pickup in the Epiphone. I'm just trying to measure the difference between these two.

Here's a question...

I find that the Gibson squeals with feedback, which I like! Do you think the SD 59 would feedback less?
