As Frank Zappa once said
Information is not knowledge. Knowledge is not wisdom. Wisdom is not truth. Truth is not beauty. Beauty is not love. Love is not music. Music is THE BEST…
* November 19, 1979: Lyrics to the song Packard Goose on the album Joe’s Garage: Act III.
Apparently, His family is releasing a 3CD collection a year late for the 40th anniversary. It was 41 years ago that We’re Only In It For The Money (1/68) and Lumpy Gravy (5/68) were released.
According to Dave White
Lumpy Money (get it?) celebrates the occasion with two versions of each album — the original 1968 mono vinyl mixes, and the 1984 remixes. One CD consists entirely of unreleased tracks and instrumentals.
you can read more about it on Daves blog.
My first Frank Zappa love was Tinseltown rebellion. I am not sure why, because I loved it at an age where it was ok if things were devoid of logic, and nothing really needed an explanation. For me, it was real “feel good” music

I dig the old Frank.
I think it was 1978 I heard Bongo Fury (live in Austin, TX with Captain Beefheart), One Size Fits All, Overnight Sensation, Apostrophe, Uncle Meat, Chunga’s Revenge, etc. at a friends house. I was a Frank Zappa fan after that.
I’m a crazy metalhead now, but Frank made a lasting impact on my life, in many ways.
