Re:Fender Strat serial number database?

hello all,
i have a fender mexican strat and i wanted to find out the year but my guitar has MZ3 followed by 6 digits instead of 5 can any 1 help me out please. thanx

Great site here....I have a 95 "American Standard" Strat (N5...) that I bought new from a music store in Illinois..it has rosewood neck, red in color, but the odd thing is that the headstock is also painted red, same as the body. I have never seen one like it, EVER..is this really a rare bird or what? It's a beauty!....

Quick story about the serial #..I locked my self out of my apt once, and the locksmith & police came and wanted me to prove I live there before they would let me in..I told him my Strat serial number..they checked it and all was well...

N = Ninety is the Decade it was made and 1 is the year of the decade, so it is a ninety -one model.It is a USA if it has a (n).Only Mexico strats have a M first.So if it was a 91 Mexican it would say M1.The 2000's start with the letter Z.If it was a mexican it would be MZ6 that would be Mexico 2006.USA would be Z6 and so on. Hope that help's .you have a 91 USA strat.

The serial is N1 017024 making N1 with 6 digits (1992) The N usually denotes the 90's.
