Does anyone out there have a chord intro, chords between verses, and the outro chords for Peaceful Easy Feeling? I have tried G-A7-G-A7, Em-G-A7, and G-Gsus4.... and a few others but nothing sounds right and I can't find any on the inter-net. I have the chords for the whole song but lacking the above sections.
Thanks,
kcbuck

Hi KCBuck, The chords in question are definitely G and Gsus4 or whatever key you play in...from memory its actually written in "E"

The easy way I would play G then Gsus4 is play "G" as a barre chord at the third fret then move the little finger from 5th fret "D" string to the 5th fret "G" string.

Hi , One thing I forgot to mention is when we change from the original key, there are occasions when only the writen key will sound right, Like you KC with it not sounding right,in my early days I would transpose something and it was so off to my ear that I would think I had made an error in transposing but it was just that it didn't sound right except in the written key...This is a prime example play it in "E" the written key and play E and Esus4 and its fine. Play the E and then drop the little finger onto the "G" string 2nd fret I just played the same thing in "G" and it doesn't sound right at all.

Another trick with sus4's is you can play the plain 4th of the key i.e In "G" play the "C" instead of the Gsus4 Rhis is of course for those who find it difficult to finger the sus4 another reason why your A7 sounded similar with |AM being the relative minor to C major.

Hay Phil:
J Guitar Chords on line doesn't show a Esus4 the way you described it. You said to play E chord at G1, A2, and D2 then drop the little finger to G2 so the Esus4 chord is A2, D2, and G2 - correct?
Thanks,

Hi KC No it's not incorrect sus4 chord is the 1st degree 4 and 5 degree of the scale in any order

You can see from this chart I did years ago the 4th in any key in G its C and so on...Of course there are so many positions that the chord can be played in addition to chord Inversions (or the chord not beginning with the root)

[/img]

The formula for a sus4 is 1st 4th and 5th degrees of the scale in the case of Esus4 thats "E" "A" "B"
These notes played anywhere or repeated will give you Esus4 With the key of "G" its "G" C" & "D" will give you Gsus4 The configuration of the J guitar site is a particular rendition as mentioned before. You can also play the A string D string & G string at the second fret to give you Esus4 Which is what dropping the pinky on the G string gives you. After playing it a few times I reckon its as nice just playing the "E" and then "A" instead of Esus4...So J Guitar is just another configuration. Its what you feel more comfortable with really.
The way I was saying gives you B,E,A and with the open E it isn't an inversion(Esus4) Its really not unlike the J guitar rendition if you write down the notes. (They use note repitition)

Hope this clears it up KC.

Best Regards Fenderphil.

Keep smilin' and people will wonder what you have been up to.

Hi KC Yes it was correct but as I mentioned so was mine there are loads of ways to play Esus4 as mentioned ANY combination of 1st degree 4th and 5th of the E scale (Sus4 formula) will give you Esus4

Here is the scale of "E"

E F# G# A B C# D#

1st 4th 5th

So any combination of the notes E A B will give you Esus4

I will post the chart again and give an explanation of how to use it, I put it together in my teaching days, it is very useful once you know how to use it...by the way There is nothing wrong with self taught I know some cracking muso's who were self taught.

Still confused, I understand "string and frets" like A2, D3, and G2 for Esus4. But I'll await your explanation of that wonderful chart of which I saved and put into my "guitar stuff" folder.
Thanks,
kcbuck
