I noticed a few of you guys who read and post here own Digitech RP50 pedals. What are your opinions on the distortions on this pedal? also if you put a distortion effect in a patch and then clean on another is there a short time delay in changing the effects?? I`m just wonder because to get the Boss Overdrive/Distortion Pedal I could get an RP50. I already have a multi effects unit and thought it might be worth it to see if the distortion on the RP series would give me distortion similar to the boss pedals.

I bought the BOSS DS-1 Distortion pedal about a month ago. The I got my Digitech RP50 about a week ago. Digitech RP50 is fine with all the effects but it does lack with Distortion. I havent had the time to tweak all the settings of RP50 yet, but with whatever I have done, I can tell that the BOSS distortion is a lot better then RP50.
If I do find any good distortion setting with RP50, I will let you know.

Wasn`t too impressed with the RP50, but for its price it`s a good deal. If you can afford to spend about $100, get the RP100, it sounds fantastic. DigiTech even has a Flash driven demo up here: http://www.digitech.com/products/rp100flash.htm
You can hear what it sounds like recorded direct. Amazing value for the price, probably the best deal on the market next to the V-Amp 2.
