what would be the best strings for a danelectro 59-DC? i want to venture out from the standard danelectro strings but don't want to waste money trying to find a certian "sound". any tips?

You can ask 25 people the best strings to use and you will get 25 differnt answers. Fact is, the best string will find you, not the other way around. Some like this and some like that, electric strings cost less than 5$ a pack, so experiment. As for size, personally I like 9's over 10's but try them both.
