Hi All, looking for that true bypass footswitch and am amazed at the prices. Such a simple part is only available for $10 and up? can this be so? Surely one of you knows better. cb

LV, in fairness, you omitted the shipping fee. For a single piece, it pays to buy it locally, even if it`s a few bucks more. If there is no local source, then someone who sells it for $7.95 has a good deal. Phil Symonds Accountant who says the total cost is the real cost, but not trying to test the Lord`s patience either

Well, hell, yeah - that`s understood, I thought. But few people are gonna order just one switch and nothing else. My $6 flat-rate (US delivery only) for anything under three pounds covers a pretty good-sized order, so the more you order, the smaller the freight burden per item is. (This is why I order speakers a couple dozen at a time - I can get UPS Heavyweight rates, and normally the freight burden per piece is *horrendous* on speakers. And we don`t even want to *talk* about mike stands, jeez... LV

LV, contrary to what you might believe, I`ve no beef with ordering from you. If fact a while back I asked you for some prices on certain items which you probably missed completely. Ah well, politics or not, I still don`t mind... BUT shipping to Europe on a few footswitches isn`t going to be that cheap. and by the time you add on 25-30% taxes on import - over $10/each. cb

I`d like to add that $6 is *very* reasonable for shipping. Boxes, packing time and materials, etc. are not *free* contrary to popluar belief, especially when you could be billing for bench time. Anyone who complains about this should try to order from a large company sometime and see their scheme for gouging you for shipping. Phil

Do you have to pay import duty on everything or does it have to be above a specific value before duty is charged?
For example in Oz we pay gst if the order is over AUD$500. otherwise the shippment is exempt.

These days it seems to be that even smaller items get charged - not the best situation now is it. cb

There have been quite a few occasions when I`ve called an amp manufacturer to order a single part or two like a pot, switch or jack that was unique to an amp in for repair, they simply sent it over no charge. Naturally, the customer was even more pleased that he had originally purchased his amp from a company like that who cares about customer service.
