I have a 1980 or 1981 Fender "The Strat".

It is Arctic white with gold hardware, excellent condition, have not played it in 25 years.
It is serial #G022105.
Everything is original, not a chip in the finish.

I would like to know its approximate worth.

Also, I need to sell this guitar to pay off some medical bills (back surgury in Dec. 2008). I never thought I would
want to sell this, but it has become necessary.

Any ideas other than E bay on where to sell this?

Hi TX, The one place where you will find the perfect buyer is the local guitar shop...some stores will post these items on their "For Sale" boards whilst others have a no policy also the ad sections of Guitar mags etc. Price at a level that gives you some room to move as most people will try to knock you down on price. so if you wanted a $1,000 dont put a thousand as you will then probably only get $800 so start at say $12,500 and then if you get between what you want and this figure you are better off than you thought you would be.

Incidently this price is just being used as an example and not what I think you should sell at, I never give advice in that area.

Hello.

About 5 years ago, EBAY had posted a listing for a 1980 or 1981 Fender Strat (Arctic White /Maple neck). From memory, the listed price was around $899.00 US dollars. I hope this is helpful

The item, if it is mark "STRAT" and not Stratocaster is a very wanted item. It has a great value as it should have brass or glod plated brass hardware. It was a three year low sell yet high quality guitar which has a special pickup in the bridge slot, the X1. It has 9 tonal settings. Do not be fooled by those who might mislead you. I would love to buy it but feel I could not offer you what it is truely worth.

Have you sold this yet. I owned this guitar 25 years ago and am convinced it is one of the best guitars Fender has ever made. I now own a Custom Shop Strat Pro and think it is one of Fenders best. But, the one thing I liked about The Strat was the tonal controls. Why fender never continued this option is beyond me. the S1 is similar but not as nice. Let me know if you still have it. I did run across one in a store, but it was really yellowed from bar rooms and pretty nicked up. He wanted $1,200.00 Thanks
