I have a '70's era Ampeg cab. A speaker just blew on it, so I am in the market for a new woofer. It needs to be 8ohm and '10in. I am using an Ampeg head, rated at 200x2 into 8ohm. The other three speakers are 8 ohm. The
Eminence line sounds nice, but I only see them >$100. Can I get something decent for, say, under $50?

Just get an Ampeg dealer to order a replacement speaker for you from Ampeg
They're cheaper than most brands.
A friend of mine ordered a couple Ampeg 10's for his 8x10 and they're as good as the originals and don't cost a bundle.
The only thing we have to fear is fear itself - nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.

Just get the original speaker reconed if you want to spend less than $50. You'll never find a speaker that's worth a crap for $50.
